KalPoint.com (KPDC): Please tell us something about your family, your education and brought up?

Babar Iqbal (BI): I was born on 2nd March 1997. My basic aim was to represent Pakistan in ITC. My elder brother Asif Iqbal is the one who motivated me to excel in IT. He himself has done a number of ITC certifications. He, along with my other brother, Kashif Khan, is sources of inspiration to me. My elder sister Asifa Khan was the youngest ICT certified prior to me. She is the 2nd Youngest Microsoft ICT holder. My elder Saima Khan has also been very helpful in my studies, she is also certified. We are 4 brothers and 3 sisters. As regards my hobbies, I do web designing and animation. Especially in Mobile Application development which has been my recent area of interest. I do take part in sports activities but along with that I enjoy more when I make the computer games. I enjoy developing computer games, more than playing them. Over the past five years I have been working in different domain of computers like Web development, 2D and 3D character creation and Animation, I do animation using tools and techniques like Adobe Flash, PhotoShop, Dream Weaver, Direct X, Action Script, Visual Studio.NET and XML related technologies and 3D animation. I have a lot of work on the Mobile Application Development as well. I have done a lot of my professional work in Dubai for international clients with the help of Asif Bhai. Currently I am the webmaster of more than 10 websites, also doing mobile applications development for a few international clients. My working experience in Dubai has helped me a lot in the maturity of my professional work

KPDC: How did you start taking interest in the field?

BI: It all started when one day Asif Bhai was writing codes in Java Programming language and I sat beside him. I was about five at that time. I found it interesting and asked him to tell me more about it. I told him that I want to write my name on the screen and to do it through programming and wanted to know how. He gave me the first lesson on how to write a code in Java that will put my name on screen once. I was really delighted to learn it and it felt as if I was flying. The next day, I tried and ran the loop to print my name ten times and showed it to Asif Bhai. Then, my interest increased and I started to learn Windows and ten Wireless Technologies. When I became expert in windows my brother told me about ICT and that if I will be able to pass it I would be the youngest one. At the same time, I continued doing animations and web designing. In animation, I started with 2-Dimensional animations and then my brother told me about working in 3D animation using Studio Max.

KPDC: How do you manage all this, besides your schooling?

BI: I never found any difficulty in managing time to do all this. I am pursuing my academic side well besides all these certifications. I remember, I used to go to my school in the morning and after coming back, I used to do my home work first and then my brother used to teach animation and other such stuff.

KPDC: Do you only involve in these technical and educational activities or do you take part in other activities, such as sports?

BI: I do like playing games too. But, I love developing games. I do play to test the game. Since, my area of interest is development of games; I do enjoy playing games and other such activities that much. I am balancing my life in my computer studies, formal education and enjoyment.

KPDC: Babar, what are your future plans?

BI: I just want to pursue my journey in the IT. I also want to be the Youngest PhD in the world. I want to make a lot of useful softwares and games for the children and elders too.

KPDC: What are you future plans?

SK: I am doing MBA-MIS and besides I am also doing Oracle certification. I have applied for MBA-Finance too at a university. I have plans to open a consulting firm or may be a Software House in future.

Questions to Mr. Asif Iqbal (Babar’s elder brother):

KPDC: How did you teach Babar to excel in this field? How did you find him as a student?

Mr. Asif Iqbal (AI): Basically, I was really impressed with the way he started taking interest in IT. He is a very quick learner and more importantly he has willingness to learn. He always likes to do new things. I am a fan of his creativity. I taught him the programming and animation techniques while my other brother Kashif taught him wireless and network administration. I have a lot of expectations from him. I don’t take him as a child; I look at him as a professional. He has not learnt animation and networking from any institute, me and Kashif taught him all this specially in the early stage of his learning. Now-a-days he also has training courses in Dubai to help him out. I feel it all depends on the amount of efforts one puts into any work. Almighty ALLAH has given skills equally to every one. It depends on how one uses it. What I did to Babar was that I used to teach him, give him books and ask him to read it thoroughly without missing a single page. However, I asked him to ask me a lot of questions if he feels any trouble or otherwise because my aim was to make learning a great enjoyment for him as well as Asifa Khan. I use to teach them together as a team. I taught them how to work as a team and also wanted to have a healthy challenge between them.

KPDC: Since Babar has entered into such a technical field from this little age, don’t you think he has lost pleasures of the childhood? Don’t his studies suffer from these activities?

AI: Pleasure is a relative term as defined by the Theory of Relativity. This term varies from person to person. For a person, a certain thing gives pleasure, but for another it may not. So, it can’t be said that his pleasures of childhood have been taken away. He was not made to choose this field forcefully, he decided himself to go further. He found it interesting that’s why he has got so much success. So actually learning advance techniques, animations and cartoon character creation is enjoyment. As far as his academics are concerned, my father has always kept a close watch on our studies and he will never allow Babar to be careless about his studies.

KPDC: How much support do you get from your father in this regard?

AI: Our father has always been supporting us. He is an Electrical Engineer. When we were very young, we had a lab in our home where there used to be different electrical equipments. Then, my father brought a computer in early 90s and asked us to assemble the computer and run it ourselves. He always motivated us to utilize our time and money productively. He believes that the practical life doesn’t start after doing Masters or Bachelors, it actually starts from the moment you start living in this world. Therefore, he has always told us to utilize every moment of our childhood, enjoyment and studies a balanced approach in life. He has been the real inspiration for us. My father has always had the tendency to foresee the future. He always encouraged us to think big. He made us find interest in reading books not only technical books but also in novels etc. He guided us about different ways to live life, but left the decision on us to choose our path. I believe that you need guidance and training for success. To me, if you choose your path based on your own wish, you’ll be surely successful in it. Inspired by my father, I too tried to encourage Babar to excel in whatever he does. I guided him about the animation, asked him whether he liked it or not. When I really found him taking interest in it then I guided him further. I remember, I used to give him incentives, that if you accomplish this task, I‘ll teach you a new technique or sometimes other gifts. This way he got the motivation and strived to do his best. I just guided him to the way, the final choice was his. The best thing I gave him is the freedom of thinking and creativity. I never gave him a line and asked him to follow it blindly. I always asked him to use his own mind freely. I would like to add one thing here, we are always frightened of the West that they are imposing their culture on us, and they are trying to dominate. But we never try to find out why they are dominating us. It’s because our youngsters don’t have the freedom to think. Give your youth the freedom; you will see that our nation will advance extra ordinarily.
